Why do stories matter?

Stories are like fertilizers are to a plant. They nurture a child to bloom and grow beautifully.

As a parent I have been looking out for tools to make my own kids understand different concepts of life. I have been searching, researching but was not able to find for what I was looking for. I decided to build my own website to help other parents and kids by compiling and organizing stories from around the world to build a strong foundation of character for any child growing up and struggling with many everyday challenging issues they face.

As a parent, I found that stories are one of the best tools as every person loves to hear a story. I noticed that I was able to get my message across by medium of a story more easily and effectively than advising for that matter.

A story can illustrate what I want to say because the listener is always hungry for what happened next and how he/she was able to overcome the problem, he faced in the story. So stories have almost a magical mesmerizing effect and we think about the message, reflect on it and are able to use the lessons from the stories to be imbedded in our daily lives, because the message from stories is understood so well. So stories help us to communicate our ideas to each other very efficiently and help us make good choices and decisions. Also, we learn moral values, virtues, develop internal strengths and powers, change old beliefs and behaviors and our way of viewing the world.
