Once upon a time there lived a frog and a squirrel who were very good friends. Everyday the frog would hop out of the lake to go meet the squirrel who lived in a hole inside a tree. Soon, the frog grew angry and hostile towards the squirrel as squirrel would never make any effort to come to visit him in his home in the water!

The furious frog made a plan to punish the poor squirrel. One day, during his usual visit with squirrel, the frog tied one end of a string to his leg and the other end to the squirrel’s tail secretly. After his usual meeting for the day, the frog bid goodbye to the squirrel, and jumped in the lake dragging the poor squirrel with him. After struggling to surface and breath the squirrel finally, drowned and died. The poor dead squirrel’s body started floating on top of the water while the frog was feeling good about himself.

An eagle flying close by noticed the floating squirrel, and swooped down to pick up the squirrel’s dead body and the frog realized that he was still tied to the squirrel by the string and watched hoplessly in horror as he was dragged away in the air too with the dead squirrel by the eagle. The frog had no time to untie the string from his legs and knew he will also be food for the eagle. Both squirrel and frog died at the hands of the eagle.

Wisdom, life lessons and rules:  Never wish or do evil deed onto others, as it is rewarded with evil in return. When we wish ill on others it can lead us into unfavorable outcomes.

Always be a well-wisher for all, even for one’s own enemies. When we wish well for those who wronged us, we will be blessed by God. We have to be givers of happiness and peace, as everyone is busy fighting with their own struggles and battles, so wishing everyone well is the best policy.

Wishing ill on others…

“Hello, Neelu you look sad today. What’s the matter, dear?” asked Nishu Tree. Neelu tree replied “ Mom, my friend Shikoo tree has started to get mold on the roots and is very, very ill. But he used to tease me, make fun of me, so serves him right!!”

“Let’s join our roots together and pray for him that he will recover from his illness, instead of thinking ill on others my dear…

Let me tell you a story…..
