The bird and the rabbit

Once upon a time, there lived a crow on a beautiful tree his neighbor was sparrow bird who lived at the bottom of the trunk of the same tree in a small hole. One day the sparrow went with his friends and relatives hunting for food in very far and distant places. It never came back for days and the crow grew disappointed thinking his friend was eaten up by some wild animal or bird may have eaten him up. One day a rabbit came by and started living in his tree in the same hole which belonged to the sparrow. Soon winter came and sparrow came back again to his old home. But he found the rabbit had taken over his old home. Both rabbit and sparrow started arguing about who has the right over this place and they could not stop arguing or come to any conclusion. So they decided to seek a judge who would settle their differences once and for all. The first animal they came across was a cat dressed in monk clothes and meditating like a monk. They decided to ask her opinion from far as she was their natural enemy. So the cat acted very saintly and said “I have given up eating meat, I live on fruits and have surrendered my life to God so don’t be afraid to talk to me. What is your problem? you can ask me anything you want to.” The rabbit and the sparrow both started to ask her for her advice to their problem. But the cunning cat pretended to be deaf so then they both did the mistake of coming too close to the cat as she was deaf so she could hear them. Again they started talking to her but she faked that she was deaf and so again they came nearer to her and started talking loudly so she could hear them. She took a step towards them and grabbed both of them in each of her claws and ate them up. The foolish sparrow and rabbit died at the hands of their judge!
