In his dreams, he saw lots of bountiful treasure full of gold and silver coins and precious gems and then he saw his grandparent in his dream The grandparent in his dream told him, “I am your ancestor who had collected all this wealth and tomorrow, I will come to your house in form of sadhu and you must hit my head with a club and soon I will die and turn into this treasure! In the morning the brahmin woke up thinking about his dream and he thought its impossible that this dream would come true. A friend came to visit him in the morning as he needed to ask his friend for some money. so the brahmin was attending to his friend when a sadhu came to his house and the brahmin soon realized this was the same sadhu from his dream the other night. He picked up a club and hit him on his head and lo behold! the sadhu turned into a pile of treasure!!

The brahmin took his friend aside and gave him some precious gems and asked him to keep this incident a secret. The friend went home and hatched a plan to make more money. He invited many sadhus to his house next day in pretext of giving them some charity and when the sadhus came he started hitting all of them on the head. A few sadhus died on the spot and others started bleeding and screaming in pain. Soon the soldiers came and captured the friend and took him to court. The friend narrated the story of the sadhus and his brahmin friend and soon the brahmin was called to court. The brahmin narrated his side of the story. The judge decided that since the friend had copied the actions of the brahmin without understanding. He had ended up hurting others and killing few pundits and therefore he would be severely punished for his stupidity. The friend was filled with regret but he was also severely punished for the violence.
