Overcoming One’s Weakness

In the school, everyone used to call him ”dumb”. His teachers were not happy with his performance at all. In every presentation in class he proved to everyone he was very dumb. Going to school was a torture for him as no one respected him when he went to school as everyone just laughed at him and made fun of him and called him nicknames like “king of bulls” etc as bull is supposed to be the dumbest animal. He got so fed up with everyone in the only school in town, that he stopped going to school. He spend his time wandering around here and there and killed his time. One day as he was wandering around the town he became a little thirsty and went near a well which was situated in the outskirts of the town. He quenched his thirst by throwing a roped pot in the well and filled it with water from the well and pulled it up so he could drink it. He was tired from all the wandering around and pulling up the heavy pot of water so he just sat down there near the well. He noticed a stone near the rim of the well. It had marks made of friction due to the rope pulling the water from the well umpteen times for so many years. When he observed that a strong stone can get deep cut marks, he thought to himself that if on a rock deep marks could be made by the rope from regular friction then doing the same thing over and over again and again can help the brain’s memory get better and stronger. “And if I practice studying daily with handwork and repetition daily then I can study well too!” And with that he made up his mind to study hard and he decided to resume attending the school again. When he resumed school again, for some time the students and teachers continued to mock him as usual but as time passed the teachers saw his passion and enthusiasm for studying and began to co-operate and help him. He gave his 100% efforts to his studing and after some years he became a famous Sanskrit scholar known as Varadraj. He created many scriptures in Sanskrit called Mughthboth, Koumodi. With sheer hard work and determination he became a pundit scholar from the dumb boy once everyone thought he was!
