Socrates and the Young man

Once upon a time a young man asked Socrates that “What does success mean?” Socrates said “Tomorrow morning, meet me at the riverbank I will explain the meaning of success to you.” So the young man agreed and they met next day at the riverbank. Socrates asked him to follow him towards the river. And then when they both entered the river they waded in it till the water was upto their necks. They were deep in the middle of the river, then suddenly Socrates who was stronger than the teen forcibly submerged the teen’s head in the water and the teenager was baffled! He gasped and struggled for air, he tried to come out of the water but since socrates was stronger he didnt let the boys head come out of the water till the boy became blue. Then Socrates allowed him to come out of the water. The first thing the boy was doing was huffing and puffing and panting to take in the fresh air and he was out of breath breath as he was breathing very fast. Socrates asked the boy, “When I pushed yr head in the water, what did you want the most to do?” The boy replied without thinking immediately, “To be able to breathe in fresh air!” Socrates said to the boy, “That is is the secret to success, when you want success as badly you as you wanted to be able to breath then you will get success there is no other secret to success!”

Wisdom, Rules, and life lessons- When you want something and you focus on it then you usually get that thing. Like small children they don’t live in past or future but in present. And when they want a toy or candy they focus their energy and mind on that one thing and they usually are able to get it if parents think it reasonable. That is why in order to get success focus with intentsity to achieve that goal is very, very important.
